As we Honour and Pay Tribute to Father SR Padayachie from Umkomaas who was the first person from South Africa to be in contact with Swami Sivananda, founder of the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh. Father SR Padayachie was the first person to start the Divine life Society in South Africa. 

Swami Sivananda and Swami Sahajananda paid glowing tribute to Father SR Padayachie in a booklet printed in 1948. Thousands of people flocked from all parts of the world to visit the Ashram in Umkomaas. Swami Sahajananda used to attend satsang and stay with father SR Padayachie in the early years. 

Swami Sahajananda always paid glowing tribute to Father SR Padayachie. Father SR Padayachie contributed tremendously to the work of Swami Sivananda in Rishikesh. A plaque in honor of Father SR Padayachie was laid by Swami Sivananda on the banks of the changes next to the kutir in Rishikesh. 

Such was a great loyal servant of Swami Sivananda in South Africa.
